The Mount Ida Area Chamber of Commerce and Ouachita Real Estate hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony Thursday, March 19, to celebrate the grand opening of Montgomery County’s newest real estate business.

Ouachita Real Estate, Montgomery County’s newest real estate brokerage, welcomed a small group of family and friends as they celebrated the opening of their Mount Ida, Arkansas office. After nearly six weeks of preparation, the business, which is located at the intersection of Hwy 270E and Hwy 27S, is ready to serve the community.

Ouachita Real Estate’s principal broker and owner, Edwenna Rowland, launched the company in February 2020 having worked in the local real estate market for the past 12 years. Rowland, an Arkansas native and lifelong resident of Montgomery county, is extremely knowledgable about the area.

“I’ve spent countless hours exploring the Ouachita’s and can personally attest to the endless beauty and adventure available here for all those who seek it.”, says Rowland.

Since 2008, Rowland has seen significant changes in regulations and the economy with respect to the real estate market. However, one thing that remains the same is the type of buyer attracted to the area: those who appreciate the slower pace of small-town living and enjoy a wide variety of outdoor activities as well as those who just want to live off the land. For those seeking both adventure and tranquility, the Ouachita National Forest, the Ouachita River, and Lake Ouachita, offer many opportunities.

Ouachita Real Estate focuses on rural land and home sales in the Ouachita Mountain region of Arkansas including Lake Ouachita, the Ouachita and Caddo rivers, and Hot Springs Village. Property types include residential homes and lots, commercial properties, investment, and recreational properties, hunting tracts, horse and cattle farms, timberland, and farmland.
