When you get ready to pick your first home you will probably want to keep a checklist of all the homes you visit. There are a few things you will want to check at each of the homes:

  1. Test the plumbing by running the shower to see how strong the water pressure is and how long it takes to get hot water.

       2. Test the electricity system by turning switches on and off.

  1. Test windows and doors to see it they work properly.

You may also want to take a close look at the neighborhood the prospective house is located in:

  1. Are other surrounding homes well maintained

  2. How much traffic travels through the neighborhood?

  3. Is there street parking for you and visitors?

  4. Is the home located near things you are interested in?

Take as much time as you need to find the right home. Then work with an agent to negotiate a fair offer based on the value of comparable homes in the same neighborhood. When you’re ready to find a home, contact Edwenna at Ouachita Real Estate.
