Serving all of Montgomery County and surrounding areas.  If you love outdoors you are in the right place.  There are lots of fun activities.  If you like to drive around be aware that we have an auto tour.  Highway 27, Highway 270, Highway 8 or Highway 298 to name a few.  Come see where these roads lead.  Highway 27 N will take you across the river and give you a great view of the Lake.  Highway 27 S will guide you to the Caddo River and on into Glenwood. Highway 8 and Highway 88 will both lead you to Mena through beautiful terrain.  Highway 270 spans form the North West corner through central Montgomery County into Hot Springs and if you like to bird watch 298 in Story will navigate you through majestic scenery to Jessiville and Hot Springs Village.

As a Mt. Ida High School Alumni it’s a great day to be a Mount Ida Lion! Mt. Ida is the Quartz Crystal capitol of the World.  Home to 40, 100 acre Lake Ouachita which provides an abundance of outdoor opportunities.  If you ever get the chance to visit Mount Ida for Memorial Day Weekend you can experience the “Good Ole Days” Festival and Car Show. 

MY HOME TOWN is located 10 miles North of Mt. Ida.  The Ouachita National Trail and Womble Trail both known as Epic Trails connect just North of Story.  People that love short hikes can utilize nature as a getaway.  There are also several accesses to Lake Ouachita. 

Sims is 8 miles North/ Northwest of Mount Ida.  Sims has great access to the Ouachita River.  

Located 10 Miles from Mt. Ida.  Oden High School is home to the Timber Wolves. Oden is predominately an agricultural community.  Big Brushy Recreational area is tucked away on the North side of the county. It is a great place to spend the day picnicking, frolicking in the cool spring water, or relaxing to the wonderful sounds of nature.  When the sun goes down you can rest your body and soul at one of the local vacation rentals to get a good nights sleep.   

Pine Ridge is the residing place of the Famous Lum and Abner Radio Show and the Jot ’em Down Store.  In the 1930’s Chester Lauck and Norris Goff created the Lum and Abner characters for a variety show.  The show was first broadcast locally in Hot Springs then later on the show was broadcast-ed Nationally. 

Black Springs is named after the springs that flow through the area which is perhaps Ore of Manganese, Iron or both. 

Formally known as Womble. Norman is Home of the Caddo Hills School District. In the Southern end of town is a Caddo Native American burial ground.  Descendants of the Caddo Indians added a footpath and benches as well as plaques containing historical information regarding the habits of Native Americans. 

Caddo Gap is located between Norman and Glenwood.  It is known as the area where explorer Hernand de Soto and his forces clashed with the Tula Tribe a band loosely affiliated with the Caddo Confederacy. 

Bonnerdale is located in the South East part of the County.  It is not far from Hot Springs and connects to Mt. Ida via several different back roads. 

The Joplin area has many great benefits.  Shangri-La has amazing pies while just down the way Mountian Harbor Resort and Spa has some amazing views of Lake Ouachita.  To get one of the best overviews of the lake you can visit Hickory Nut Mountain Vista just a few miles away from Mountain Harbor.  

Located in Garland County, Royal is habitation to the only Bronze foundry in Arkansas.

Crystal Springs isn’t far from Hot Springs National Park and also has great access to Lake Ouachita. 

Hot Springs Village is a 40.7 square mile gated community.  The recreational resort community has 9 professional Golf courses, 15 professional Tennis courts 11 pristine Lakes and so much more to offer.
